K'NEX Sesame Street Oscar Building Set

I'm a sucker for simple building toys. Our home is filled with them. And though I'm not usually a fan of licensed products, I make exceptions for innocuous and at least semi educational ones.

Sesame Street actually is a license that I do like. I'm not wild about the fact that the show is marketed to the under two crowd as well as preschoolers, but as a show for children ages 4- 8...as it was originally intentioned way back in the beginning- I think it's great.

And so we have lots of Sesame Street product around. My six-year-old immediately grabbed this K'Nex Sesame Street Oscar Building Set and happily assembled it.

Though he was engaged with the idea, as it has only 14 pieces, this toy would be better suited for a child or 2-4 years of age. And...is a great way to get a child into collecting - an important math building skill.

K'nex has lots of these Sesame Street sets available and building your child's collection of K'nex one set at a time is a great way to handle the birthday gift issue. Ask for these sets, if you get two- no big deal. Just dump them all in a box and let your child create what he or she will!
